Man Sustains Serious Injury In Warwick Disturbance

Police are appealing for witnesses to a violent incident near JD Wetherspoon in Market Street, Warwick on Wednesday evening (8 August).
A 44 year old male was taken to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he underwent surgery after sustaining a severe cut to his face when he was struck with broken glass.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of JD Wetherspoon, also known as Lloyds No1 Café bar, on the Marketplace on Wednesday evening between 6.15pm – 6.45pm who saw the disturbance or who has any information about the incident in which the man was injured.
They are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Tim Carter at Leamington Local Investigation team on 01926 415000 x 4169 or they can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where the information can be given anonymously.
Police have this morning (Thursday 9 August) arrested a 41-year old male on suspicion of causing injury to the man.
Police are still wanting to hear form witnesses in order to establish events leading to the disturbance on Wednesday evening.
