Moped Seized
On the evening of Monday 8th October a moped was seen riding around on the field at Acre Close Recreation Ground by a member of the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. The officer called for assistance as the moped was making off through the alleyway towards Masters Road. A Reactive car crewed by two Police officers was in the Whitnash area at the time and came to assist. They stopped the moped in Masters Road to speak with the rider. The moped was further seized for no insurance and the rider reported for no insurance or licence.
This was an excellent example of the local and reactive officers working together for a safer community and resulted in a successful stop and seizure.

SpeedAware in Whitnash
SpeedAware is run by Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit to help local people address speeding problems.
The scheme consists of temporary fixed and mobile flashing SpeedAware signs, supported by other publicity materials.
This scheme has been deployed in Whitnash during October at the request of local Councillors.
Why is it important to make people Aware of the Speed Limit?
Excessive speed is a major contributory factor in road crashes where people are killed or seriously injured.
Every single road death causes immense grief and suffering.
Every road death costs around £1.5million.

Don’t get caught speeding - have another look at the highway code – did you know street lights mean it’s 30mph unless otherwise signed?

What's Happening in Your Area?
The local officers have been heavily committed with Operations happening within the Town. These have included crackdowns on Anti-Social Behaviour and the prevention of misuse of fireworks. These operations have also been a useful tool for gathering intelligence and increasing our local knowledge. We'd all like to thank everyone that we've spoken to for cooperating with us during the last month.
