Are You SPECIAL?
Are You SPECIAL? Warwickshire Police are currently recruiting for Special Constables.

If you could spare about 16 hours a month - that's just 4 a week - you could make a visible difference in your community as a Special Constable.

It's a voluntary role, but one that's immensely rewarding. Some Specials enjoy helping keep their neighbourhood safe. Others love the camaraderie and excitement of being part of a team. Then there are those that do the job to build their confidence or just stay fit.
Don't let your spare time go to waste.

Whats Happening In Your Area?
In the Whitnash area during May 2008 there were four Burglary Dwellings, eight incidences of Criminal Damage and five incidences of non-vehicle related thefts. During the same period there were also four occasions of theft relating to motor vehicles.

During the month there has been a great deal of activity in the area by the Warwickshire Police Opertions Task Force, which now encompasses the group formerly known as the Road Policing Unit. These officers have been focusing on apprehending motorists that may have been above the drink/drive limit, driving whilst disqualified, unlicensed drivers and those without the correct documentation; eg insurance.
Whats Happening In Your Area? During May there has also been a change in the political side of the town with the Mayor-Making ceremony being held on Thursday 22nd May. Retiring Mayor Cllr David Clough handed over his chain of office to the incoming Mayor Cllr David Stocks.

Change of Police Officer
Change of Police Officer PC 1533 Johnathan Calvert left the Whitnash Safer Neighbourhood Team on Saturday 17th May to become a Shift Sergeant on Reactive duties in Stratford. He has been replaced by PC 959 Paul Farrell from Leamington Spa. Paul has taken over all of Johnathans previous duties and will continue the close working relationships that have been developed in Whitnash since the advent of the Safer Neighbourhood Team and its predecessor the Community Beat Team. He has also taken over the mobile phone number that was previously carried by PC Calvert.
