Warwickshire Direct - Whitnash opens
It follows the success of Warwickshire Direct – Kenilworth, a similar centre at Kenilworth Library that has benefited thousands of residents in Kenilworth since it opened in October 2005.
Mayor of Whitnash, Councillor David Clough, said: "This is another step forward in bringing services to our town. I feel this is the way forward, making it easier for residents to visit services, which until now they have had to travel to Leamington or Warwick to receive."
The facility opened to the public on Friday 14th December and had the official opening on Wednesday 19th December. This was attended by the Chairmen of Warwickshire County and Warwick District Councils, the Mayor of Whitnash, and several Councillors from County, District and Town levels. Warwickshire Police were represented by Assistant Chief Constable Holland, Chief Inspector Bailey, and Inspector Davis. Officers from the neighbouring Leamington Spa South Safer Neighbourhood Team also attended along with the local officers who will be working from the new office.

Bike Marking Session
Over the Christmas period there will be a lot of happy children, and adults, who will receive new bikes for Christmas. Unfortunately, these are a prime target for thieves. Although many people spend hundreds of pounds on new bikes, not so many think about using another £5 on buying a decent lock for their new cycle, or even £20 on a helmet to protect them when they're using their new cycle.
To help combat the flood of bike thefts that happen over the weeks after Christmas we will be holding a bike marking session on the 12th January 2008 between 10am and 12 Midday at the Warwickshire Direct - Whitnash Police office.

If you bring your bike to this session we will permanently mark it with your postcode thus making it less of potential target for both opportunistic and professional thieves.
