Please be aware that at 12.10pm yesterday afternoon, 1 February, the elde=
rly resident of a home in Greenhill Road, Whitnash reported that a quanti=
ty of cash had been stolen from his wallet by a male claiming to be from=
a double glazing company.
The male had been invited into the house and the resident had agreed to h=
ave some work done. The offender then asked for =A3300 as a deposit whic=
h the resident took from his wallet. The wallet was then left unattended=
whilst the resident was invited outside. When the resident returned he =
discovered that the remainder of the cash in his wallet had been stolen.
The offender is described as a white male aged between 30 and 35. He was=
around 6ft tall with close cropped hair and wore a black waterproof jack=
et. He had an identification card with Windshield printed on it.
Please remain alert, on the lookout for suspicious persons or vehicles in=
your area. Be very wary of allowing strangers into your home and of doo=
rstep callers offering goods and services.
