Warwick Town Centre – PCSO 6230 TURNER

The spate of number plate thefts from Barrack Street Car Park seems to have stopped. However, if you require advice or tamper proof screws please visit Shire Hall and they can provide you them free of charge.
PCSO Emma TURNER is pleased to say that businesses are using the radios more frequently, which in turn is making them work a lot more proactively. A theft was prevented at Sainsburys when Marks and Spencer alerted retailers of a well-known offender.
Shop Watch is available to businesses and is free, similar to neighbourhood watch, all we require is an email address and you will be sent regular community alerts and have knowledge of what is going on in your town.
Please be on the look out for anyone acting suspiciously in the town. Any businesses that are interested in joining the Warwick retail Radio to help combat crime should speak to PCSO Emma Turner.
The Tuesday Police Surgery at Shire Hall at 2pm-4pm is still open for drop in or make an appointment. We will also now be available to speak to once a month on a Saturday in Market Place in town. A member of the Warwick Neighbourhood Policing team will be there during the morning in the mobile police station for you to get advice or just to have a friendly chat! The next one is on the 17th September 2011 from 10am.

Packmores Estate – PCSO 6144 BERNARDES

On Saturday 6th August a fun day was held at the Packmores centre. Some of the team took the police car down and the children seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.
There has been a spate of thefts from the businesses on Millers Road, generally thefts from motor vehicles. Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
If you have any other issues you would like to bring to our attention feel free to drop in and have a chat with PCSO Steph Bernardes at her weekly surgery. It is held every Wednesday at the Packmore Centre on Lyttleton road between 11am and 12pm. You can also speak to the local housing officers for the Packmores area too.

Forbes Estate and Chase Meadow – PCSO 6158 TROTT

A car on Shelley Avenue has had damage done to the tyres by a sharp implement, please keep an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously and report anything.
The racing club got broken into on Friday 26th August. Fruit machines and games machines were targeted and an investigation is on going.
The new park areas on The Marish and Hardwick Field Lane seem to be attracting youths causing anti social behaviour and we have had reports of damage. Please make sure that your children are respectful of other residents when playing in the parks. The team are in the process of working with the Anti Social Behaviour Officer in order to find out the culprits.
We have received numerous complaints about people parking vehicles over dropped kerbs, please be mindful and considerate when parking your vehicle.
There has been two burglaries on Blackbades Boulevard were jewellery seemed to be the main item that offenders stole. If you have valuable jewellery it maybe worth investing in a safe and keeping it out of sight.
A new Café Lounge has opened next door to the One Stop Shop on Chase Meadow, which we hope will provide a good community meeting place.
The new road leading from Stratford Road into Chase Meadow is finally under construction.
Please secure your garages and sheds at all times, all windows and doors should be locked.

Woodloes, Spinney Hill and the Percy Estate – PCSO 6215 PRICE

We have had reports of a small blue motorbike causing a problem on the green area off Deansway/Corbison Close. We would like to speak with the owner of the bike before there is an accident. If you know who owns the bike or have seen where the bike is coming from please would you contact PCSO Louise PRICE on the details below.
A couple of mop heads have been stolen from outside the front of properties, enquiries are still ongoing but if you are the owner of a mop head or motor bike please ensure it is secure at all times when unattended and if possible keep it out of side in a garage.
A youth was given a street caution for possession of Cannabis on Portobello Way by an officer who was on general patrols but the problem with the youths congregating in this area is still an issue but is slowly being resolved. PCSO Louise PRICE had a meeting with a manager from Bromford Housing about the blocking off of the carports, which seem to be were the problem is escalating from. A case has been put forward. Regular patrols by all members of the team is still ongoing and the youths names are being collected and put on our tasking system and will be forwarded on to the Anti Social Behaviour Officer if their behaviour continues.

Warwick Gates, Shires Retail Park and Myton – PCSO 6158 TROTT

Members of the team have completed a leaflet drop on Warwick Gates warning residents about Asian Gold Burglaries. The Police has unfortunately, seen a rise in the theft of Asian Gold due to the price of gold being at an all time high.
Warwickshire Police advises the following:
· Valuable items should always be kept locked up securely inside a safe, which is permanently fixed inside the house or securely put away a bank.
· Make sure that doors are kept locked, even when you are in the house and that windows are always closed if you go out, and when you go to bed.
· Use smart water to identify valuables.
A burger van got stolen from near the Plumb Centre, enquiries are ongoing.
A bicycle got taken from Tachbrook Park Drive; please ensure that you secure you bicycle when it is left unattended.

Initiatives

The local P.C.S.O’s are trying to relaunch the Neighbourhood watch schemes in the Warwick area. Our aim is to try to set up a scheme for each street. To do this we need a volunteer with Internet access from each street that will act as the co-ordinator. This person will receive emails from the police updating them about issues that have happened relevant to each street or area. The co-ordinator will then forward on the email to the local residents to keep them updated. If you are interested in becoming a part of NHW please ring the SNT on the number below.

We are currently in the process of setting up Community Speed Watch operations. We are looking for members of the public who feel that they would have some spare time to help us to combat speeding in the Warwick area. It is a great opportunity to help your local community and keep our roads safe. If you are interested please contact us!

If you have any further information concerning any of the above incidents please contact the team on 01926 684361. The team aim to respond to all messages within 24 hours.

Please note the above number for the Warwick Central team is not manned 24/7
