In May 2008, Warwick District was awarded the Chief Constable’s Annual Performance Award in recognition of the outstanding performance delivered during 2007/2008.

During that period the district reduced the level of most serious violent crime by 10% when compared to the previous year. At the same time burglaries of peoples homes reduced by 24% - 164 less victims and offences of auto crime reduced by a staggering 33% - 568 less victims. At the same time offences of criminal damage reduced by almost 10%.

The performance demonstrates the hard work of all the staff working across Warwick District both Safer Neighbourhood Teams, 24/7 Response and many support teams including, CID, Offender Management, the Special Constabulary and many others. The District now faces the challenge of not only maintaining the reductions but further reducing the crimes committed across the District.

After receiving the Award the District Commander, Chief Inspector Tim Bailey said “It was a great honour to receive the award on behalf of the District and it really does recognise the hard work that my staff put into policing our neighbourhoods and protecting people from harm”
