Serious violence offences fall by 42.1% in 3 areas of Leamington

by Claire Shepherd last modified 05 February 2010 02:40 PM

Police in Leamington have reported an encouraging 42.1%* reduction in incidents of serious violence in 3 areas of Leamington.

During the period of April 1, 2009 and January 22, 2010, 118* people in Leamington South, North and Town Centre have been protected from the harm caused by serious violence.

These priority areas are geographic locations that have previously seen the highest number of incidents and crimes in Warwickshire.

Acting Chief Inspector Neil Harrison said: "Warwickshire Police knows, from speaking to the public that serious violence is something that concerns and affects communities and law abiding citizens. We hope that this reduction reassures the public that we take their concerns seriously and are committed to protecting people from harm. Our aim is to continue in our protection of communities and further improve on these figures.

"Officers in this district will continue to target those who persistently commit crimes and cause harm in our community."
