Poly Carbonate To Be used in Night Time Economy

by Leamington Town Centre Team last modified 06 February 2007 07:44 AM

As a result of long mediations between Police, Management and Legal Representatives for KoKo's Bar in Warwick Street, Leamington. KoKo's bar have agreed to supply only Poly Carbonate Glasses to customers in thier nightclub and roof garden bar. This is the first premises in Leamington to use Poly Carbonate Glasses. They are not like plastic glasses that have been used at other events usually external events, they are virtually indestructable, and will only mishape under presure of 4.5 tonnes and look very similar to glass. They have been introduced in other Towns and Cities around England and Wales with great sucess. Places that use them have seen a reduction of serious assults and accidental injuries of up to 70%. PS Calver the Town Centre SNT Sgt said - "i am extremely delighted that KoKo's have agreed to this change, and would like to thank the management at the premises for thier co-operation with this implementation. It is my aim to encourage further premises in the Town Centre to convert to Poly Carbonate in part or all throughout thier premises" Ongoing work will be carried out with other Licensees and updates added with any futher conversions to Poly Carbonate.
