Operation Guardian under the heading of "Wasted Night's" has now been running in Warwick District for 10 weeks. It was initially trialled within Leamington Town Centre and now run over the whole of the District. Over the 10 weeks, more than 300 young people have been spoken to by Police Officers, PCSO's and Special Constables during the late evening. Many of these young people have been given personal safety advice and the specific "Wasted Nights" literature. There has been a number who have been spoken to due to anti social behaviour or under age drinking, every person spoken to under those circumstances have had letters sent to parents/guardians either issuing advice or warnings dependant on the circumstances. Should further contact be required home visits will be made.
