As per previous entries, Leamington Town Centre SNT in partnership with many other agencies such as The GAP, Connexions, YOT, Bath Place Community Venture, WCVYS, Brakes Automotive to name a few have run a 12 week course over the summer period in mechanics. The young people engaged on the course were not in Employment, Education or Training and they were chosen with a view to assist them in gaining an insight into such activity for future career paths.

Of the group three have now enrolled on full time education or training courses in the mechanics field which is a great result from what was a pilot scheme. Two others have enrolled on other courses, overall what a fantastic result.

The group are now working towards putting together further courses for early 2008 for another group of young people.

There was a presentation ceremony for the participants of the recent course, where the successful people have gained OCN certificates and one member of the course attained a certificate of excellence presented by Warwickshire Police. Before the ceremony the young people enjoyed an afternoon GoKarting.
