Introduction to Warwick District
Emergency response policing is provided from the Leamington Justice Centre and many other specialist teams support the district tackling serious and organised crime and helping to make our roads safer. The Safer Neighbourhood teams operate from a number of different sites using the community policing van and cycles to engage with local communities and are focussed on ‘Protecting our communities together’ and protecting communities right across our district.
Warwick District’s eight Safer Neighbourhood teams have a strong working relationship with the community, their elected representatives, and other organisations such as Neighbourhood Watch. Partnership meetings are held in Leamington at the police station, the Town Hall, or at the district council headquarters at Riverside House.
I am pleased to say that there are many superb examples of partnership work right across our district. A robust approach to alcohol related Crime and Disorder issues remains a prioirty for the district to keep people safe whilst they enjoy the opportunities provided by the district.
Community Forum meetings give our communities an opportunity to directly influence local priorities within their neighbourhoods. The community defines what kind of policing it needs - and us and our partners responsible for performance.
