Street Racers - update
Reports from local residents confirmed that the problem was improving following the launch of the operation in May. However over recent weeks further complaints have been received, and as a result the operation will be stepped up, with dedicated officers patrolling the Binswood Avenue / Beauchamp Avenue area on a regular basis.
As before Fixed penalty notices will be issued for offences such as excessive noise and improper use of the horn as well as any offences concerning the standard of driving. Officers will also be using their powers to seize vehicles being used in an anti-social manner where the necessary grounds exist.
The team asks residents to continue to report any instances of vehicles being used antisocially, ideally with the registration numbers of any vehicles involved. Please see the local information section of this website for further details.

The pupils benefitted by gaining an understanding of the role of the Police Service, and the Officers also benefitted through speaking to the children and learning of the issues that concern them.
The day was well received by the children and the team will be looking to organise similar events at other schools in the area.
If anyone connected with a school, would like us to do a presentation or even arrange a Police day like the one above, please contact the team. Presentations can be tailored to suit different age groups.

Crime prevention advice for elderly
Approximately forty people turned up for the presentation and before giving the talk the officers joined the group for lunch.
The Officers gave advice on crime prevention and personal safety as well as answering any questions that were raised. Leaflets, posters and stickers were given out.
There have recently been a number of distraction burglaries in Warwickshire where offenders have gained entry to the homes of elderly people by posing as tradesmen or meter readers. As part of the talk the officers gave advice on how to avoid becoming a victim of distraction burglary.
