Arrests made after damage to cars
For the last 3 weekends Police Officers have been working overnight to tackle incidents of Criminal Damage on the Leamington North area.
During the evening of Friday 9th March 2007 after a report from the public of damage being caused to vehicles on the Rugby Road Milverton, Officers attended and detained 2 youths. A footmark on one of the vehicles damaged was similar to that of the footwear of one of the youths and both were subsequently arrested. A search of the youths resulted in stolen property being found and they were further arrested for a street Robbery earlier in the evening in Leamington Town Centre.
At about 1am on Sunday morning 18th March 2007 a number of residents called Police about a group of 5 youths who were causing damage to vehicles in the North Leam area, Binswood Avenue into Campion Road and Brownlow Street. Several Police units attended and a number of residents pointed out the area the youths were last seen.
Police located the 5 youths and they were all arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage. All 5 were kept in Custody overnight and interviewed during the following day with their parents present. They have been released on Police bail to return to the Police Station once enquiries are complete.
