Introduction to the Warwick District
The introduction of 8 ‘safer neighbourhood’ teams in November 2006, has greatly enhanced the way local policing is delivered. This new style of policing is still developing and seeks to develop better joint partnership working with the statutory and voluntary sector and most importantly, with our communities.
I am pleased to say that there are many superb examples of partnership work right across our district and people are beginning to engage with us through the community engagement processes we are developing. In particular the PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings and panels give our communities an opportunity to directly influence local priorities within their neighbourhoods.
Emergency response policing is provided from a number of key sites and many other specialist teams support the district tackling serious and organised crime and helping to make our roads safer. The safer neighbourhood teams are focussed on ‘Building safer neighbourhoods together’ and protecting communities right across our district.
Through the Warwickshire Youth Partnerships Connections we support sports academies during school holidays.
