With the introduction of Safer Neighbourhoods Teams (SNT) in November 2006 my team have taken on responsibility of two more wards, namely BARDON and SNITTERFIELD.

BARDON ward follows the western edge of Stratford-on-Avon town. Bardon covers a number of smaller settlements, including Ardens Grafton, Drayton, Dodwell, Luddington, Exhall, Lower Binton, Cranhill, Binton and Little Britain.

SNITTERFIED ward covers a large rural area between Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick/Leamington Spa. Aside from Snitterfield itself, the ward also contains Hampton Lucy, Charlecote, Wolverton, Ingon, Heath End and The Green.

PC 658 Harvey WHITEHOUSE is the local Safer Neighbourhood Officer for BARDON

Despite the team formally been called Stratford Urban, we appreciate we have a large rural area, including Snitterfield, Bardon and Alveston. The team is called urban and the Shipston, Kineton and Wellesbourne team are referred to as the rural team.

The Team has and will be getting to know as many of the BARDON and SNITTERFIELD community as possible, this is aided by the whole of the Southern Area have a Safer Neighbourhood Team(SNT) Van. Stratford District and Warwick District take it in turns having the van on a weekly basis. The SNT van is used to reach out to as many communities as possible. When you see the SNT van in your community, please take the opportunity to come and meet your team and let us know your concerns. It is hoped that later in the year, Stratford District will have its own SNT van, giving the Stratford District community more exposure to their Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Safer Neighbourhoods is more than high visibility policing. It is about using local knowledge and information from local people to target crime and disorder issues causing most concern to local neighbourhoods.
