Stratford Urban Safer Neighbourhood Team launch Safer Neighbourhoods at Springfield Mind's Christmas Coffee Morning.
Springfield Mind, who welcomed the Mayor and the Chairman of the District Council to their annual Christmas Coffee Morning held recently at their Day Centre in Drayton Avenue, were privileged also to be joined by the Stratford Urban Safer Neighbourhood Team who took the opportunity to inform the staff, clients and visitors about the Safer Neighbourhood Team.
The Safer Neighbourhood Team want to know what different communities concerns are, they will then work with partners to address local concerns that impact upon your quality of life. PC Harvey Whitehouse has been working with Springfield Mind for the past 2 years and PCSO Kate Connor has been building a rapport with the staff and clients for the past 10 months.
PC Whitehouse said "The Safer Neighbourhood Teams include Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables, all dedicated to working locally. We are hoping that the teams will also include people who volunteer to help make their community safer, such as Neighbourhood Watch. In the near future we will attend local meetings of existing community groups or set them up where they do not exist. We will invite the community to share their issues and help shape local policing priorities. Safer Neighbourhood Officers will work on these priorities, and report back on progress. Teams will be accessible, visible and locally accountable. We invite anyone to get involved with the Safer Neighbourhood team, wherever you live or work and help to make a difference to your community"
Springfield Mind will be holding their annual Carol Service at the Guild Chapel on Thursday 14th December at 11am.
