"Not in my Neighbourhood Week" is taking place from 2–6 November. Warwickshire Police Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Warwickshire County Council's Community Safety Team will be joining local communities across the county in saying "Not in my Neighbourhood" to crime and disorder.
 
The national campaign is aimed at highlighting what Criminal Justice Agencies, voluntary groups, charities and local people are doing to make neighbourhoods safer and also to send clear messages that crime and disorder will not be tolerated in their community.

The Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be focussing on improving their web pages aimed specifically at increasing public awareness, public confidence, and public engagement.

Alcester South Safer Neighbourhood Team will visit residential areas offering cycle and property marking.  The area currently has an issue with pedal cycle thefts. The team will adopt high profile cycle and foot patrols in Alcester and Bidford during the week.

Alcester North Safer Neighbourhoods Team NHW coordinators and leaders to cascade anti-terrorism and cannabis factories information through their schemes. The team will also be liaising with Studley NHW, Studley Parish Council and Warwickshire Youth services, regarding the reintroduction of a dispersal zone and introduction of an alcohol restriction zone in the village.

Southam Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be working with the council in an attempt to tackle anti social behaviour on Southam recreational ground. They also want to make parents aware of anti social activities their children may be involved in when socialising, via leaflets.

Shipston Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be targetting anti social behaviour in the area during Not in My Neighbourhood Week. Shipston will also be supporting the efforts in Southam.

Warwickshire Police Head of Community Safety, David Whitehouse said: "This week of activities is really important to highlight what we and our partners are doing day in, day out to protect communities in Warwickshire. We always encourage the public to tell us their concerns so that we can address them. Not in my Neighbourhood Week is an ideal opportunity to highlight the important role the public play in combatting crime."

Representatives from Warwickshire’s Neighbourhood Watch and the county council’s Community Safety Team will be manning information stands in the following locations throughout the week. They will be offering lots of advice to shoppers to help them reduce the chance of becoming a victim of burglary and vehicle crime and handing out lots of freebies.
 

• Wednesday 4 November – 9am-1pm – Waitrose, Alcester
  
• Thursday 5 November – 9am-1pm – Tesco, Stratford

Councillor Richard Hobbs, Warwickshire’s Portfolio Holder for Community Protection added: “Working together with residents and partners helps us to tackle issues like crime, anti-social behaviour, criminal damage and alcohol and drugs misuse at local levels.

 “These events provide the perfect opportunity for people to get an insight in to the fantastic work going on to ensure communities are safe. In addition they offer the chance for residents to find out more about getting involved and helping out.”
