Male Charged with Poppy Box Thefts!
Following a series of thefts during early November 2011, officers from the Alcester North Safer Neighbourhood Team have been liasing with West Midlands Police regarding the theft of poppy appeal collection boxes on both Warwickshire and the West Midlands Police areas. Great interaction and teamwork between officers of both Forces has resulted in a 31 year old male, namely Tyrone McDermott from Ward End, Birmingham being charged with five offences of theft, this includes the boxes taken from two shops on Henley in Arden High Street and one from a shop on Waterside, Stratford on Avon. McDermott is now due to appear at Solihull Magistrates Court on the 8th February 2012 regarding these offences.
