Team leaders
Darren joined Warwickshire Police in January 2006 after serving 11 years with West Midlands Police, working in Handsworth, Lozells, Tipton and West Bromwich. He is now responsible for the Stratford rural area, the largest in the force. Darren has a BA (hons) in Town Planning and before joining the police served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force.
Team members
Chris works out of Wellesbourne as part of the Wellebsourne, Shipston and Southam Rural Policing team. He has worked for Warwickshire Police for 11 years, including 2 years as a Special Constable in the Stratford District. He has experience in Emergency Policing, Public Order, Evidence Gathering, Drugs Unit, Community Policing, Acting Sergeant and is a tutor constable. Chris has a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies. Chris is studying for his sergeants exam this March 2010. Chris also carried out the extra role of Sgt Fretwell's deputy to assist the team and ensure efficiency of the team.
Jim Butler has joined the Wellesbourne Safer-neighbourhoods team for a rolling attachment covering PC Comyns absence. Jim has previously worked with the Stratford Reactive team covering 999 calls and emergency incidents. We hope Jim will be very happy at Wellesbourne.
Jane is a Community Volunteer for Warwickshire Police Service and joined the Wellesbourne team in 2009 to assist with administration support such as Newsletter Updates and station information. This support will enable your Neighbourhood Policing Team to spend more time visibly working in your neighbourhood and allow the team to engage with their community as stated in the Policing Pledge. Jane is in full time employment with a local utility company and in her spare time enjoys reading and gardening and is a keen traveller.
Michelle has now been with the Wellesbourne team for 2 years and has enjoyed every minute of meeting her community, building relationships with partners and interacting with the youth on her area. "My two years with the here has been a honour, I work with a great team of people who are very supportive to me and in 2009 I had the greatest honour of all by being nominated by the team as "PCSO of the year" for Warwickshire Police. Michelle has lived in Coventry for 10 years after moving to the area from Aldershot. She previously worked as a mobile sales executive, and is a big football fan with her team being Aston villa.
Tim joined the team following an extensive career in the British Army, finishing as a Warrant Officer 1 and a Regimental Sergeant Major. He saw action in Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland and the Gulf. Tim grew up in a rural area of Cornwall. He is a keen shot, and shoots for Warwickshire Police. ** Tim is currently on sick leave following an injury at work **
Hayley joined the team from an administrator background for three years. Hayley studied at Brighton University a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Sociology. Hayley quoted "I am looking forward to getting out onto my beat and working with my community. I enjoy getting to know new people and can not wait to get involved with community issues."
Anna has joined the Wellesbourne SNT after working in Hospitality and Customer Service over a number of years. Since leaving the Ricoh Arena she has been looking forward to getting out and meeting her Community. Anna enjoys most outdoor sports, meeting people and is looking to getting out on patrol.
