Man Charged With Theft of Motorcycle, Nuneaton

A 24-year old man has been charged with theft of a motor scooter, driving while disqualified and without insurance. Simon Gerald Byrne of Gadsby Street, Nuneaton , has also been charged with assault of a police officer.
The charges relate to an incident in Coventry Road, Nuneaton on Saturday 26 May when police saw a male riding a black Keeway Motorbike, which had been reported stolen, being ridden along George Eliot Street on to Coventry Road, Nuneaton at shortly before 4.30am on Saturday 26 May.
The rider dropped the motorcycle and ran from the location.
Byrne was arrested on suspicion of theft of the motorcycle a short time later.
He was released on bail to appear before magistrates in Nuneaton on Thursday 7 June.
