Reminder to residents after thieves use cat flap to get keys, Alcester

Residents are reminded to keep their keys hidden away after a set was stolen from a house in Alcester during Tuesday night.

Offenders used a stick to reach in through a cat flap in the kitchen door of the property in Avon Crescent and swept the keys to the floor. They then entered the property and stole an Ipod, two purses, cash and some bottles of alcohol.

Police in Alcester would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in Avon Crescent from Tuesday night until about 7.30hrs on Wednesday morning.

Officers are also investigating an incident in nearby Hertford Road which they believe may be connected.

Between midnight on Tuesday January 26 and 08.0hrs on Wednesday January 27 offenders broke into a garage where they searched a car which was parked inside. They also stole a key to the back door but were unable to access the house.

Police investigating the incidents would like to hear from anyone who has any information which would help them with their inquiries.
