Partnership working to tackle Anti Social Behaviour in Kineton
Partnership working to tackle Anti Social Behaviour in Kineton Recently PC Chris CUTHBERTSON held a meeting with Sgt Darren FRETWELL, Councillor Sue WIXEY, David GOSLING from Kineton Parish Council, Kully TAKHAR Anti-social behaviour officer from Stratford district council and Carla HARRIS Detached Youth Worker. They discussed recent problems reported within Kineton involving nuisance youths, damage, litter, alcohol abuse and abusive language. As a result of this meeting in partnership the group will be engaging with the local youths to ascertain what could be done to stop these problems and if any facilities are available to these Youths in the village. As a safer Neighbourhood team, the team will be increasing patrols in and around Kineton and engaging with local youths. Anyone found causing a nuisance or being under the influence of alcohol or committing public order offences will be dealt with accordingly by the team and their parents informed. Local residents are encouraged to continue reporting any issues to the team.

The definition of anti-social behaviour in Section 1 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 – “behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more people who are not in the same household as the perpetrator.”

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) can therefore cover a wide range of activities, from those that cause minor nuisance or irritation to major incidents of harassment, threats or actual acts of violence.
Individual incidents of Anti social behaviour may be dealt with by means of Warning Letters, ABCs (Acceptable Behaviour Contracts) and ASBOs.

If you feel affected by Anti social behaviour please contact Kully Takhar on 01789 260123 email: kully.takhar@stratford-dc.gov.uk or your local Safer Neighbourhood team
