Excess 30!
Excess 30! On Wednesday 16th July 2008, Wellesbourne witnessed the start of our teams speed enforcement. This was carried out in partnership with the Warwickshire Task Force who operate the speed enforcement equipment. Within a two hour period( outside peak times )on the Kineton Road, Wellesbourne and Newbold Road, Wellesbourne, 8 endorsable traffic tickets were issued for excess 30mph speed. The majority of these tickets were given to local residents speeding within their own village and community. These tickets involve a 3 point endorsement on the drivers licence and a fine. In addition, there was another motorist arrested for excess alcohol. PC Cuthbertson "This shows that although local residents reported speeding issues to our team, in-fact it is some local residents who are actually committing those offences". There will be further speed checks within the Wellesbourne Safer Neighbourhood team in the near future.
