Honesty does pay

Have you ever mislaid anything? Stopped your daily shopping chores to get a well earned cup of tea only to realise later that your purse/wallet is missing?

What a horrendous feeling it is knowing that someone may now be helping themselves to a new pair of shoes with your hard earned cash.

These things happen unfortunately and can be very distressing.

And so it was for a local gentleman on Friday 19th September. Were it not for an honest and upstanding 11 year old and his two friends from Wellesbourne, all students from Kineton High School, the weekend looked bleak for the gentleman concerned.

How refreshing to learn that the youths concerned found the wallet and duly brought it to Wellesbourne Police Station to hand it in intact.

The gentleman attended the Police station almost immediately after the youths had left and was overjoyed to be reunited with his lost property and commended the honesty of the youths. So grateful was he that he rewarded the youths £5 each.

Doing the right thing earns respect and admiration whatever the circumstances.
