On the 5th July 2007 the PCSO's from the Safer Neighbourhood Team East, attended Ashlawn School for the Renewable Energy Day. The PCSO's advised pupils on the project of Safe Green Travel to School, which included a comprehensive presentation and some useful resources. The School have thanked PCSO Cawte, PCSO Nash and PCSO Spraggett stating, "It is important for such a cross section of our school community to see such positive role models talking about such relevant and important issues".

The Police and Police Community Support Officers in the Safer Neighbourhood Team have now established close working relationships with Ashlawn School and a Satellite Station has been set up on the school grounds. Officers will use this as a base to do paperwork and will also be accessible to their beats.
