Bogus Calls Made to Resident in Willoughby

A farmholder in Willoughby recently received a telephone call from a male purporting to be representing the Police Authority. As part of the call the male stated that he was in the process of putting together a crime prevention magazine and had available advertising space for local businesses. The cost associated with this was in the region of £250.

The resident did not hand over any bank details and ended the call but Warwickshire Police would like to clarify that the Police Authority would not make calls of this nature. If anyone else was to receive a call like this then please report it.

Your local policing team are pursuing the matter in conjunction with Trading Standards and have also put messages out via Farm Watch.
