Community Priority - Pupil Safety - Leamington Hastings Primary School - Set September 2011
To conduct patrols at Leamington Hastings Primary School at drop-off and pick-up times in order to promote and enhance pupil safety. To conduct a minimum of ten patrols.
This priority was set at the Dunchurch Community Forum on 08th September 2011. Details of action will follow here on a monthly basis.
Update for Period Ending 08th October 2011
In the past month, eight patrols have been conducted at the school. This has included advising drivers of the dangers of parking on yellow zig-zags and liaising with staff to ensure they are happy and engaged with our activities.
Update for Period Ending 08th November 2011
In the past month there have been two further patrols including a schools assembly talk given to pupils around road safety.
Update for Period Ending 30th November 2011
A total of 10 targeted patrols were conducted by the neighbourhood policing team at the School at opening and closing times to tackle the issues of parking and to influence parents and children with regards to road safety.
During a school assembly, Community Support Officers spoke with the children at the school with the help of their teachers and had an interactive talk with children about getting to and from school safely.
Advice was given by officers to anyone seen causing an obstruction allowing for buses to safely drop children of at the School.
