Suspicious Fire, Rugby

Police in Rugby are investigating a fire at Thornton’s Cycle Centre in Cambridge Street in the early hours of Friday morning (29 January).

The fire service were already in attendance when the police were alerted to the incident at 1.15am.

It is believed the fire started in a bin situated alongside the building, before spreading to the building causing extensive internal damage on all floors. A green Ford Focus parked near the premises in Cambridge Street was also damaged by the heat of the fire. Police working with the Fire Investigation Team are establishing the cause of the fire which is being treated as suspicious.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area late on Thursday 28 January, or very early on Friday 29 January.
