Police have issued a warning to motorists to make sure they leave their car secure, even if alighting for a couple of minutes.

Warwickshire Police are reminding motorists:

• do not leave the engine running whilst unattended or the keys in the ignition
• always lock your car before leaving unattended
• do not leave the keys in an obvious place such as the glove box
• remove valuables from the vehicle wherever possible
• whenever possible leave your car in a secure garage or in a well lit location
• consider security protection from a car alarm, window etching, steering lock, smart water, Tracker device etc.
