PCSO Wyer dusts off his helmet and gets stuck in!
Members of the Rugby Rural Central SNT paid a visit to the Bretford Bulldog training on the afternoon of Saturday 25th October in Bretford.

Although the weather was fresh and windy, PCSO Ken Wyer dusted off his helmet and had a go on the specially made bicycles that have no brakes.

Unfortunately his performance means he will not be considered for the London Olympic Games in 2012.
The local youngsters were extremely enthusiastic about their sport which was a pleasure to watch. Anyone else who would like a go is welcome to visit the training which is held on Saturday afternoons (weather permitting).

Pictures to follow.

Designated Public Place Order - How does it affect you?
Rugby Borough Council are currently in a consultation process with putting in place a Designated Public Place Order (DPPO).

This will give police the tools to remove alcohol from anyone (any age) who is acting anti socially in a public place whilst drinking or under the influence of alcohol. This includes supplying underage people with alcohol.
This will not affect village fetes or licensed events unless problems are reported.

Hoax 999 calls - Wolston
On the evening of 28th September 2008 two hoax 999 calls were made from telephone kiosks from Manor Estate and Main Street, Wolston.

These calls were made by calling 999 and then proceeding to abuse the call handler when the call was answered.

This is a very serious offence, thought to have been commitied by children.
Those caught making hoax calls will be dealt with in the severest manner.

Making hoax calls to the emergency services risks lives.
