Operation Dresden
Warwickshire Police took part in Operation Dresden over the February half term break. This Operation was aimed at nuisance youth activity, with a particular focus upon underage drinking and the sale of alcohol.

This Operation was deemed to be extremely successful in that a large quantity of alcohol was seized by Officers and PCSO's. Test purchasing was carried out regularly in the Rugby District of licensed premises and those caught drinking underage were dealt with, which in some cases resulted in those involved being taken home to parents.
Warwickshire Police would like to remind parents and young people that purchasing or attempting to purchase alcohol under the age of 18 is illegal and will be dealt with by Police.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered
Two cars and a digger have been recovered by Warwickshire Police in the Rugby Rural central area in the past month. This is positive news for those who had their vehicles stolen as they have now been reunited with their vehicles.

This is encouraging for the Rugby Rural SNT and its team members who will continue to keep up the good work.
We would like to remind those who enjoy the woods to continue to report incidents and descriptions of the riders and vehicles so that Warwickshire Police can direct their patrols accordingly.

Further Action Against Off Road Vehicles in and around Brandon Woods
Further Action Against Off Road Vehicles in and around Brandon Woods The February half term break was a busy time in BRANDON WOODS, with the good weather attracting many members of public who enjoyed a pleasant walk, along with their families and dogs.

Unfortunately the enjoyment can sometimes be spoilt by people who choose to take off-road motorcycles and quad bikes into the woods and surrounding area.

It is not permitted to use any sort of motorised vehicle in this area, and doing so is a great safety risk to people walking free in the area. It is also dangerous to the riders who are often not wearing any safety equipment, and any access for emergency services would be extremely difficult.
Rural PCSO's visited the area daily over the holidays to remove any offending vehicles, and deter more from entering.

Approximately 11 riders over the week received a Section 59 Nuisance Vehicle Warning which means if they are found to be committing a similar offence, any vehicle they are using will be seized immediately. In most cases this leads to the vehicle also being crushed.

Warwickshire Police would like to remind riders that the riding of off road vehicles is a priority for this area and one that Warwickshire Police take seriously.

Operation Harrold
Rugby Rural SNT are conducting an operation which will focus high visibility patrols in villages with increased anti social youth behaviour. Villages will include Dunchurch, Long Lawford, Binley Woods and Wolston however this is not exclusive.
Sgt Karl Faulkner said " The intention of this operation is to provide reassurance to residents who are experiencing problems whilst at the same time, identifying anyone who maybe committing these offences and deal with them accordingly".

Positive Action Against Those Breaching Long Lawford Dispersal Order
Rugby Police Officers took positive action against two youths found to have breached Long Lawford's disperal order in the week commencing 18th February 2008. One youth was cautioned whilst another was charged with the offence.
The Rugby Rural SNT would like to remind parents that the dispersal order is in place to reduce the amount of anti social behaviour incidents in the area and that those breaching this will be arrested.
