If you are concerned about anything that is happening out on your area, or you wish to report an incident please contact the Rugby Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team on 01788 541111.
On Your Bike!
The new posters and leaflets warn riders that their vehicles will be seized should they ride their vehicle illegally.
Off road vehicles are prohibited from riding on the highway without valid insurance, licence and MOT and private land without express permission from the landowner.
Sgt Karl Faulkner says "It is the riders responsibility to ensure their vehicles are up to code and they have an appropriate place to practise their sport. Brandon Woods, Piles Coppice and the surrounding fields are privatley owned and the landowners do not give permission for off roaders to use it. Those doing so will have their vehicles seized."
If people are unsure where to ride or the laws surrounding it, they should consult the Police or the ACU. www.acu.org www.warwickshire.police.uk

Advice for residents regarding car crime
Warwickshire Police offer the following advice:
*Lock the doors, windows, boot and sunroof every time you leave your car - even if it's just for a few minutes.
*Never leave the ignition key in an unattended vehicle - even when filling up with petrol.
*Steering locks and alarms - always use them.
*Never leave any property on display in your car - a thief may break in just to see what is in a bag or what has been placed under a coat. Put these things in the boot, or better still take them with you.
Never leave the following in your car:
Cheque, credit and debit cards
Vehicle documents - these will make the vehicle much easier to sell on.
Personal correspondence - a thief may use these to prove their identity if stopped by the police.
Radio/CD/MP3players - always remove these if you can. Make a note of the serial number and keep it in a safe place.
Etching - have the vehicle registration number etched on to all glass surfaces - including the side windows and headlamps.
Parking - if you do not have a garage always try to park in a well lit, open location.
