Continued action against nuisance motorbikes in Brandon Woods and Ryton on Dunsmore
On Sunday 30th September, eight (8) Section 59 warnings were issued by PCSO's whilst out on routine patrol.
Six were issued to riders using the Brandon Woods area and two were issued in Ryton on Dunsmore.
A Section 59 notice is a warning issued to the rider and the vehicle whose details are then entered onto the Police National Computer. This means if the rider or the vehicle are caught a second time riding in a manner that causes alarm, harassment or distress or they are riding on an area that is not legal for them to do so they risk having the vehicle seized.
Those wishing to ride off road must have the landowners express permission. Those using private land are trespassing and risk prosecution.
The areas of Brandon Woods, Piles Coppice and the Old Fruit Farm are regularly patrolled by officers and those using the area illegally risk having their bikes seized.
Warwickshire Police advised those wishing to use their off road vehicles to use legitimate facilities.
