Community Policing in Rugby District
Seven teams of officers and staff are delivering local policing and helping to build safer neighbourhoods. Ten new Community Contact Points are being developed in village halls, Post Offices and schools, with an officer attending each location at least weekly.
In Rugby, community officers use bikes to get to their beats and we have distinctively uniformed Rugby Borough Council Wardens who target anti-social and nuisance crime.
Six Rugby Rangers patrol the town using radios, and are easily spotted by their red baseball caps and polo shirts. To ensure we include all communities in our plans, Rugby Police are inviting people to join an independent advisory group, which will meet regularly to discuss any minority problems, issues and cultural matters.
