NHW NB Vehicle crime in Nuneaton - please lock up and remove valuable items from your vehicles

by Sasha last modified 25 July 2008 01:24 PM

Over recent days there has been an increase in the numbers of vehicles being attacked or broken into in the Nuneaton area.

The most recent incidents occurred in Genfield Avenue, Cleaver gardens and Hinckley Road when items including sat navs were stolen.

Please can we remind you to remove anything of value from your vehicle when leaving it unattended or overnight. Please remove loose change from sight as thieves often believe that there may be other cash hidden in the vehicle.

Please remove sat navs from the car and ensure that any tell tale sucker marks are removed from your windscreen. Do not leave bags or purses on display in the car and do not rely on things being hidden in the boot to deter thieves.

Fianlly, please ensure that you lock and secure your vehicle when leaving it as offenders oftern try the handles of parked vehicles as an easy opportunity as they pass them. Thankyou.
