Feed back from last meeting.
The anti social behaviour in the Moorcroft/Gleneagles area seemed to have reduced. Since the last meeting no further incidents have been reported.
Only 3 incidents regarding the misuse of motor bikes had been reported since the last meeting and it was hoped that this low level of these incidents would continue. However all residents were encouraged to report any incidents they encounter.
Several incidents of Anti Social behaviour had been reported in all localities and the police would continue to monitor and deal with these.
The summer holidays had not produced as many incidents as expected, and some names had been collected for those causing problems. On visiting the parents of those involved, the parents had been supportive of thew police and had been keen to make their youngsters behave in a more responsible manner.Operation Crunch was targeting know offenders who could cause problems in the run up to Christmas, and Operation Orleans meant that most of the Safer Neighbourhood Teams would be concentrating on evenings to cover Halloween and Bonfire night activities.Local shops had been asked to disallow the sale of flour and or eggs to youngsters who could miss use them.
The meeting then went on to discuss items of concern to the public. These included the vehicles used for advertising purposes and being parked in inappropriate places.Local councillors were in consultation with Highways to see what can be done to stop them distracting drivers and causing obstructions.Scrap metal collection was also causing some problems with some visiting residential areas on Sundays, and in some instances rooting through skips. The question then arises if in a skip it is being disposed of, however they should not come onto private property to look into skips. It was suggested a poster be circulated warning the public about some tricks used to obtain metal which can be sold on profitably.
Nadine told the meeting that Helen was working with the County Council on the problems of Parking around schools in the county.
Again the traffic problems along Whitestone road were raised and the borough councillors would contact the county council regarding this. Previously there had not been sufficient evidence to impose a weight restriction, but they would ask for this to be looked at again.
In the future the format of the meetings was due to change, and locality working would be introduced. All the agencies were working together on this approach. The number of localities would be 7, less than the number of PACT meeting. These would be attended by more senior officers together with representatives from other statutory bodies. As yet arrangements were not finalised, but it was hoped to have this way of working implemented early in the New Year.
