Community Policing in Nuneaton and Bedworth

The borough’s Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are setting the standard across the force. They attend daily briefings and visit every single burglary victim. PCSOs patrol on pedal cycles, making them visible and approachable.

The police are working with the borough council on initiatives such as sheltered areas where young people can gather. We also co-sponsor distinctively uniformed Town Centre Wardens. A Nuisance Behaviour Officer has been taken on to collate crime details and brief local Safer Neighbourhood team officers, who visit young offenders’ homes.

To tackle hate crime, a Racial Incident Review Panel now helps us reach minority groups more sensitively and successfully. Every two weeks, we meet with the borough and county council, fire service, Youth Offender Team, Probation Service and others to ensure we are all working as effectively as possible.
