Water Orton ward forms a fairly tight boundary around Water Orton itself, with no real surrounding rural area. The M42 runs through the eastern part of the ward, and the M6 runs through the south-western corner. The ward shares boundaries with Birmingham and Solihull Metropolitan areas.

Members of the public can now access the latest local crime information through a new interactive crime mapping website. The maps highlight force crime data by ward level, above-or-below-average crime rates for the force (based on 1 and 2 standard deviations), allowing for a comparison to the same time the previous year and showing the trend on a monthly basis for the last 12 months.
