Safer Neighbourhoods Information Packs to be delivered across North Warwickshire
10,000 fridge magnets and information leaflets showing contact details for local Safer Neighbourhoods teams will be delivered to homes across North Warwickshire over the next few weeks. These aim to help residents contact their local Safer Neighbourhoods team direct when they have a local issue.
North Warwickshire Borough Council, funded through the Safer Stronger Community Fund, has provided the magnets and leaflets in partnership with Warwickshire Police.
Warwickshire has 33 Safer Neighbourhoods teams covering the county whilst North Warwickshire has four covering the Borough. Teams are made up of Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and Special Constables who meet local people to understand the community they serve and address the issues that matter most to them.
The teams are committed to preventing crime and anti social behaviour, listening to residents' concerns providing reassurance and giving feedback on actions and working with residents and local organisations on key issues.
Borough councillor Barry Beeson, who is chair of North Warwickshire's Community Safety Partnership, said:
"We wanted to fund this project because it lets people know that there are resources to help deal with community issues. A lot of the time people do not want to bother the police and worry that they have more important things to be doing. However, Safer Neighbourhoods teams are dedicated to community issues that impact on people's day to day lives. "
