NHW NW James Harvey Sentenced to Four and a Half Years For Burglary
Please could we make you aware of the following sentencing of a male responsible for burglaries in Atherstone, Nuneaton and Hartshill.
James Michael HARVEY bn 27/4/1983 of 3 Bluebell Close, Hartshill was sentenced at Leamington Crown Court on Friday 25/5/12 to a total of 4 1/2 years in prison following an investigation into a series of burglaries in the Nuneaton, Hartshill and North Warwickshire area's by the Nuneaton ACT.
In late March 2012 HARVEY was identified as being responsible for a burglary at Croft Mead, Ansley. This was a daytime burglary were the offender had left blood on a piece of glass at the point of entry and on a newspaper inside the house. This blood was identified as belonging to HARVEY. Attempts were made to arrest HARVEY but he fled his home address moving around to associates addresses in Atherstone and Coleshill.
On 12th April 2012 members of the Nuneaton ACT team responded to a reported burglary at Salisbury Drive Nuneaton again in the daytime where a female at the address had disturbed a person fitting HARVEY'S description in her porchway. A short time later HARVEY was spotted by ACT officers and he made off before he was detained with the assistance of OSU Staff who were also in the area.HARVEY was found to be in possession of a quantity of jewellery which following further enquiries was found to have come from a burglary committed that afternoon at Edinburgh Road Nuneaton.
Folllowing enquiries despite his denials HARVEY was charged with the two burglaries and remanded into custody.
A number of other offences were also suspected to have been committed by HARVEY and following identification procedures HARVEY was identified as being involved in three further offences at Salisbury Drive, Coleshill Road, Atherstone and Thorntons Way, Nuneaton. HARVEY was later visited in prison and charged with these three further offences.
HARVEY pleaded guilty to the offences and under the new Early Guilty Plea Hearing system appeared in Crown Court less than two months after his arrest. HARVEY who has a number of previous convictions for burglary was sentenced to 54 months.
