.........NHW NW Distraction burglary at home of elderly person in Watling=
Street, Grendon INC 120 of 10 December

Please be aware that between 10.15 and 10.30am yesterday morning, 2 males=
with Irish accents called at the home of an elderly person in Watling St=
reet, Grendon and offered to clean out the guttering. The quoted the res=
ident =A3550 to carry out the work.

Once of the offenders then asked the resident of the house to step outsid=
e to see what work needed to be done whist the other offender stole the r=
esidents wallet which contained cash and cards.

The offenders then left the premises saying that they would go to get som=
e new guttering. The resident then discovered the wallet missing.

Bogus workers were reported at the homes of elderly people in Water Orton=
and Shustoke yesterday so distraction burglars do appear to again at wor=
k in your area.

Please remind your elderly neighbours to be very wary of who they allow i=
nto their homes and to contact police if they are aproached by suspicious=
callers.
