Distraction burglary, Rugby

Incident 379, March 15
Police are investigating a distraction burglary which occurred in the Lawford Road area last night, Monday March 15.
At about 21.00hrs two men let themselves into a property where the male occupant was reading a newspaper.
They told him that they were from the water board and needed to turn the water off in the bathroom and he showed them upstairs.
After about 20 minutes the man became suspicious and discovered that an amount of cash in £20 notes had been stolen.
The two offenders, described as white males, made off in an unknown direction.
One is believed to be aged 35-40years old, of stocky build and wearing a light blue waterproof jacket. No further details are available about the second offender.
The occupant of the house was not injured but was very shocked by the incident.
Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or has any other information which would help them with their inquiries.
