The majority of the ward's population lives in Mancetter, although the ward does cover a rural area and extends as far west as Ridge Lane. Atherstone South & Mancetter ward also covers the Purley Park area, Oldbury reservoir and the Nuneaton Road. Dobbies and Purley Chase Golf Club are both located within the ward.

Members of the public can now access the latest local crime information through a new interactive crime mapping website. The maps highlight force crime data by ward level, above-or-below-average crime rates for the force (based on 1 and 2 standard deviations), allowing for a comparison to the same time the previous year and showing the trend on a monthly basis for the last 12 months.
