Litter Pick in Hartshill
On Wednesday 12th August 2009 a litter pick was carried out on Snowhill Recreation ground in Hartshill. This had been arranged by Amanda Yates, Community Projects Officer from the local council. It involved local youths who were asked to name a project they would be willing to take part in, for which if they stayed out of trouble they would receive tickets to Alton Towers.
PCSO Dan Hoskin 6210 also attended and said " It was great to see young people from the local community cleaning up the area , it was in desperate need of it that's for sure and they all did an excellent job. not forgetting the council staff who have been fantastic with the kids . I just hope that we as a community can keep it clean and tidy for a long time to come . WELL DONE !

Cannabis Plants Seized in Hartshill
On Wednesday 19th August and Thursday 20th August 2009 two properties were searched after intelligence was received and several cannabis plants were found. East and North SNT Officers from North Warwickshire Police based at Atherstone seized the plants. The occupants of the addresses, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were arrested by PC Paul Painter and prosecuted for production of cannabis.
This sends out a clear warning to those involved in the misuse of illegal drugs.

New PCSO at Atherstone Police Station
New PCSO at Atherstone Police Station On Tuesday 18th August 2009 PCSO Ashley Wynder joined the East Safer Neighbourhoods Team at Atherstone Police Station. Ashely will be taking over the Mancetter beat from PCSO Theresa Smith who is leaving to become a Safer Schools Officer at Alderman Smith School based in Nuneaton. He is looking forward to getting to know the residents and working with the Safer Neighbourhoods Team in Atherstone.

Completed July 2010 - Anti-social Behaviour - St Mary's Recreational Ground, Atherstone

Actions to be taken: Aim; Monitor and effectively deal with ASB at the following location by 20 targeted patrols, seizure of alcohol and process of individuals for nuisance related issues.<br><br> Update as of 2nd June 2010 <br> So far to date 19 targetted patrols have been made to the area. On two occasions, youths have been spoken to by officers. On the first occasion, the four youths were aged over 18 years and had alcohol but they were not consuming it and were sat talking. This occured at approximately 21.20hrs. On the second occasion, 4 youths aged between 10 and 12 years of age were sat on top of the teen shelter but not causing damage. All four youths were advised about their behaviour. <br> Leaflets have been delivered to residents in the area about how to report anti-social behaviour.<br><br> Completion of task - 27th July 2010<br> A total of 49 targetted patrols were completed and no issues were identified by the team. Since the begining of the priority only 6 incidents have been reported. A temporary domehawk camera has now been installed.

Completed July 2010 - Parking outside the Sandwich Factory, Atherstone

Actions to be taken: Aim: All staff to monitor the parking/obstruction issues outside the "Sandwhich Factory" Carlyon Rd Atherstone and advise/enforce where appropriate. 15 Targeted patrols required. <p>PCSO to liaise with planning dept NWBC to explore contravention of planning regulations for use of unit. Lead agency NWBC with assistance of Police<br><br> Completion of task - 27th July 2010<br> In excess of 15 targetted patrols have been made and no obstructions have been seen by the team. Planning department stated that the factory would need to extend their car park, however, there is no room in which to do this. Management at the Sandwich Factory are trying to borrow additional room from a neighbouring unit to ease the problem.

Completed July 2010 - Speeding, Harpers Lane/Nuneaton Rd, Mancetter

Actions to be taken: PCSOs to conduct 10 speed checks and generate advisory letters to registered keepers of vehicles exceeding speed limits. <p>PCs to conduct 5 speed checks and issue fixed penalty notices where appropriate. <br><br> Completion as of 27th July 2010<br> A total of 15 speed checks were carried out by PCs and PCSOs. Advisory letters were sent out for cars driving in excess of 35mph in the 30mph zone. Further, 10 drivers were verbally advised about their speed also.

Parking on Footpath - Manor Road, Mancetter - Set July 2010
It was discussed at the East Area Forum Meeting on 27th July 2010, that cars are continually parking on the footpath of Manor Road, Mancetter, near to Watham Grange School. This is therefore causing pedestrians to walk on the road.
Actions to be taken: This is to be monitored and dealt with by way of fixed penalty notice or advice for any vehicles parked on the footpath obstructing free passage of pedestrians, on Manor Road near to Watham Grange School and adjoining playing fields.<br><br> Update as of 26th July 2010 <br><br> Policing activity has been agreed at 15 targetted patrols.<br> So far to date, approximatley 12 targetted patrols have been made, during which no issues have been found.

Parking - Junction of Coleshill Road & School Hill, Hartshill - Set July 2010
It was discussed at the East Area Forum Meeting on 27th July 2010 that parking is an issue in the above area. However,the hard work of the team was aknowledged following the completion of this task on previous occasions.
Actions to be taken: Parking issues will be monitored and dealt with by way of advice and fixed penalty notice at the junction of Coleshill Road and School Hill, Hartshill. <br><br> Update as of 26th August 2010<br><br> Policing activity has been agreed at 15 targetted patrols. So far to date, approximatley 13 targetted patrols have been made. During these patrols, no issues have been identified.

Parking - Long Street, Atherstone - Set July 2010
It was discussed at the East Area Forum Meeting on 27th July 2010, that obstructive parking is an issue in Long Steet, Atherstone
Actions to be taken: 'Obstruction Offences' will be dealt with in the following locations.<br> 1. Long Street between junction with Coleshill Street and Church Street.<br> 2. Coleshill Street at junction with Long Street. <br> 3. Market Street at junction with Long Street. <br> 4. Church Street at junction with Long Street. <br> 5. Long Street - vehicles 'double parking'.<br> 6. Long Street - any parking on pavements.<br> No parking opposite or within 10 metres of a junction<br><br> PCSOs will distribute leaflets on all vehicles parked in the above area.<br> PCs will issues fixed penalty notices on offending vehicles.<br><br> Update as of 26th August 2010<br><br> Policing activity has been agreed at 25 targetted patrols. So far to date 16 patrols have been conducted.<br> On these occasions ... <br><br> Several shops in the area have been given notices to display to advise of the parking conditions<br> Approximately 85 vehicle drivers have been advised verbally or with leaflets of the parking restrictions <br> 18 fixed penalty tickets have been issued
