Queen Elizabeth School Real Context Problem Solving Challenge
PCSO Theresa Smith and PCSO Sarah Mander attended the problem solving event held on Thursday 4th June 2009. This was aimed at the year 9's of Queen Elizabeth school in Atherstone. This was run by the Warwickshire Education Business Partnership and members of North Warwickshire council set the challenge which was to come up with ideas on how to encourage people to take part in sport activities.
The pupils were split into groups and people from the business world, PCSO's, Army, local Business's etc, helped to guide the pupils through the day.
The teams had to give a presentation at the end of the day and there was a prize for the team with the best idea. They were also judged of how much research they had done, for example looking at set cost, funding and advertisement.
Hopefully the pupils went away from the event with some skills such as time management, team working and communication.
