Elderly man critical after head on collision near Salford Priors

An elderly man is in a critical condition in hospital following a head on collision on the A46 near Salford Priors last night, Tuesday June 26.
The man was driving a blue Rover 100 which was in collision with a blue Mazda 6 at about 17.30hrs.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene and the 90 year old man was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire with a suspected fractured hip and external cuts. His condition is said to be critical but stable.
The driver of the Mazda, a 39 year old man, was taken by land ambulance to the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed it or saw either of the two vehicles before the collision occurred.
