Woman named who died as a result of Wishaw collision

Incident 286 of 6 June 2012

Officers investigating the circumstances of a fatal collision that occured at approximately 5.50pm on Wednesday 6 June on the A446 Lichfield Road near The Belfry have named the woman who died as 36 year old Michelle Thomas.

The family of Michelle, who was born on the Isle of Wight have issued the following tribute to her:-

"We are grieving the loss of our 36-year-old daughter, Michelle Thomas, who was killed in a car crash on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in North Warwickshire. Michelle was a much loved daughter and sister who lived and worked in the Daventry area after having moved off the island three years ago from where she grew up."

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision which is believed to have occured when a blue Honda Civic car driving south on the Lichfield Road was in collision with a VW Transporter van travelling in the opposite direction.
