Missing People
24 hour confidential Freefone service 0500 700 700 / enquiries@missingpeople.org.uk
Missing People is the UK’s only charity that works with young runaways, missing and unidentified people, their families and others who care for them. As well as actively searching for missing people and supporting those who are trying to find them, the charity offers three other services: Runaway Helpline (for young runaways), Message Home (for missing adults) and Identification (helping to resolve cases of unidentified people).
Runaway Helpline
24 hour confidential Freefone helpline 0808 800 7070 / runawayhelpline@missingpeople.org.uk
A 24 hour confidential helpline for runaways operated by the charity Missing People, offering help and advice to young people who have run away from home or care, or who have been forced to leave home. Runaway Helpline offers a Freefone number and email service (runawayhelpline@missingpeople.org.uk). If appropriate, Runaway Helpline can help young people to contact their family, carer, a support agency, such as social services or a young person’s project, or help them to find a place of safety.
Message Home
24 hour confidential Freefone service 0800 700 740 / messagehome@missingpeople.org.uk
A unique confidential service run by the charity Missing People offering help, advice and support to adults who are missing. Message Home is a 24h Freefone number for people seeking confidential help and advice. If appropriate, Message Home can help people to contact their family or carers, or to assist them to find a place of safety. People go missing for many reasons. Often people who have left home or run away find it hard to make direct contact with their family or carers; Message Home gives them the opportunity to take the first step, whilst reassuring those left behind that they are safe.
